Water quality
The water produced and supplied by SEMERAP is, from the spring, of very good quality. Nonetheless, this water undergoes two types of controls:

Many analyses carried out by the DDASS [office administering health and social services at the district level] (samples taken by the DDASS and analyses made by the Institut Louise BLANQUET in Clermont-Ferrand). Those analyses are carried out according to a regulatory programme and at delimited frequencies according to the produced flow and serviced people. About 600 analyses are, like this, carried out every year. Every year, the DDASS publishes a synthesis of all those analyses, by area.

Analyses carried out by SEMERAP: it is about an in-house process of self-checking, voluntary and complementary to the previous analyses. Those analyses aim at forecasting and preventing risks. So, the samples are taken in the most critical places, where deteriorations can occur, due to water stagnation at the ends of networks, for example.

Overall, the set of samples taken annually (in-house and external) represents about 12 000 bacteriological and physicochemical parameters analysed to monitor drinking water and guarantee its quality to the consumers.
